Neighborhood House operates the Clothes Closet resale shop in Downtown Rochester. The Clothes Closet is located at 44 Mill Street, under the Main Street bridge. The public is welcome to come and shop for clothing, accessories, and households items at a fraction of other store’s prices. The Neighborhood House Clothes Closet provides clothing and household items for free to our neighbors in need, helping them on their path to self-sustainability. Not only does the Neighborhood House Clothes Closet have very affordable clothing, but all the proceeds help keep us open for our clients in need of clothing assistance. Click here to learn more.
Neighborhood House provides financial support in the form of rent and utility bill assistance for our clients to move forward on their path from financial crisis to self-sustainability. Click here to learn more.
We have a volunteer licensed counselor with her Masters in Social Work who works with individuals, couples and families to provide short-term mental health counseling. Additionally, a local psychologist gives his time pro-bono, taking on cases to provide counseling for our clients. Our counseling services focus on the mental health of our clients, who are often in a very vulnerable time in their lives. Click here to learn more.

We believe that education and skill building is the key to our clients’ success. We focus on the long-term goals of our clients to bring them from crisis to self-sustainability. Our caseworkers work one on one with clients to complete budget assessments, discuss job opportunities, and to talk about managing money. Additionally, we have three ongoing group classes with curriculum built for our neighbors in need to learn skills for success. Click here to learn more.
