Neighbors Helping Neighbors Capital Campaign
“A Note From the Campaign Co-Chairs:
Nobody expects it to happen to them. A breadwinner loses a job, a devastating illness strikes, a single mom working minimum wage jobs must choose between a needed car repair or food for her family. Bad things can happen to anyone to turn a family’s life upside down.
Since our beginning in 1968, Neighborhood House has been a lifeline for those facing unexpected housing, financial and family emergencies. Through the ever-challenging years since then, the need for assistance has not diminished but grown in regularity and complexity. Over the past five years, nearly 10,000 of our neighbors have benefited from the services of Neighborhood House.
As the need for our services increased, so did the realization that we required a larger, more flexible space to provide better, broader services to the struggling families in our community. For the first time in 47 years, we are asking for your help to make our new home a reality. Upon completion of our capital campaign, Neighborhood House can stand as a lasting tribute to the generosity and care our neighbors have for struggling families in our community – we are Neighbors Helping Neighbors!
Gratefully,”
Neighborhood House has moved from providing one-time emergency help to providing programs focused on long-term self-sustainability, which required us to find a larger home of our own. Through a unique convergence of timing, generosity and leadership, we reiceved a generous donation that served as a catalyst for expansion. We are now calling on compassionate community members to enable us to contunue to serve as a lifeline to our struggling neighbors.
Since moving into our new home at 1720 S Livernois in Rochester Hills, in September of 2016, our ability to meet the needs our of neighbors in need in innovative, proven and personalized ways has significantly increased.
We have used the space for educational initiatives such as computer training, parenting and financial management classes, private counseling, community events, and more. We are the only full-service nonprofit in the area that can help families with wrap-around services to promote self-sustainbility.
The success of this campaign will allow us to complete renovations to our new home to most effectively serve those in need in our community and continue to expand our services.
We are approaching our $1.5 million goal, and your generosity can help us across the finish line!
